Santa’s Grotto at The Steading 2026

The wait is nearly over: Santa and his elves are making their way back to The Steading!

There’s a lot to do at the North Pole in the run-up to Christmas. The elves are busy helping Santa get everything ready, checking his list and making sure he’s prepared for the many visits ahead. But even with such a busy schedule, Santa is making time for a special trip to Rosewell and is looking forward to welcoming families into his grotto.

When the children arrive, they’ll have time to meet Santa, tell him what they’re hoping for this Christmas and share in the excitement of the season.

It’s a chance to pause in the middle of the festive rush, enjoy a special moment together and make a Christmas memory to look back on.

Every child will receive a special early gift from Santa: a book or a selection box. There’ll also be an opportunity to take a photo during the visit, so bring your camera or phone along.

Santa’s Grotto will be open on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December 2026.
Tickets: £5 per child.

When is Santa’s Grotto open?

Santa’s Grotto is open on:

  • Saturday 12 December 2026, 10:30am–3:30pm
  • Sunday 13 December 2026, 10am–1pm

Choose an available time when you book.

Are Quiet Sessions available?

Yes. Quiet Sessions will run from 10am to 11am on Sunday 13 December. They will have fewer people, softer noise levels and more lights switched on to make the visit more relaxed and comfortable.

What does each child’s visit include?

Each child will have time with Santa, a photo opportunity and a special early gift.

Please bring your own camera or phone for photos.

You can choose either a book or a selection box as a gift. Please tell us each child’s name and gift choice when you book, so the elves can get everything ready.

How many children can attend each session?

A maximum of five children can attend each session. If you’re bringing a larger group, you’re welcome to book additional sessions.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

If you need to change or cancel your booking, please contact the elves at info@rdtrosewell.org.uk. Refunds can only be issued if the event is cancelled, however we’ll do our best to help you reschedule, subject to availability.
