Gardening Volunteers Needed This Summer

by | Jun 29, 2026 | Volunteering

Can you lend a hand?

Summer is a busy time for gardening, and we could really use some extra help over the next few months.

There is always plenty to keep on top of when everything is growing. Our gardening volunteers help look after outdoor spaces at The Steading and around Rosewell, including planting, weeding, watering, looking after village flower beds, growing plants and produce, and helping with new garden areas.

Do I need gardening experience?

You do not need to be an experienced gardener. A bit of time, willingness to get stuck in, and an interest in helping keep local spaces cared for is more than enough.

Why volunteer?

Gardening volunteering is a great way to spend time outdoors, meet other people, and be part of something practical that makes a visible difference in the village.

Even helping now and then would be appreciated, especially during the summer growing season.
