Helping families through the school holidays

School holidays can be great, but they can also be expensive. Between days out, snacks, activities and keeping little ones entertained, the costs can quickly add up.

This summer, The Steading will be offering a free soft play hour every morning during the school holidays, helping families enjoy a low-cost start to the day.

From Saturday 27 June to Wednesday 12 August 2026, families can use our soft play area for free during the first session of the day, from 9.15am to 10.15am.

Spaces cannot be booked in advance. Families should just turn up on the day.

How it works

The free session will run from 9.15am to 10.15am and will be a shared-use soft play session.

Spaces are limited to 6 children under 5 at any one time, so entry will be on a first come, first served basis. Once the soft play area is full, we won’t be able to admit any more children for that session.

If families would like to stay beyond 10.15am, regular soft play charges will apply, subject to availability.

The Village Café will also be open as usual, so families can stay for breakfast, coffee, lunch or cake before or after their visit.

Sunday 5th July
Sunday 19th July
Saturday 1st August
Sunday 2nd August

Any changes to opening times or availability will be shared on our website and social media channels.

Terms and conditions

• The Free Summer Soft Play Hour is available only during the 9.15am to 10.15am soft play session.
• No alternative sessions or times are included.
• This offer applies to soft play only. The sensory room is not included.
• Spaces are limited and cannot be guaranteed. Capacity is 6 children under 5 at any one time.
• Entry is on a first come, first served basis.
• Pre-booking is not required and spaces cannot be reserved.
• Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
• Standard soft play rules still apply.
• If families wish to stay beyond 10.15am, normal admission charges will apply, subject to availability.
• The offer cannot be transferred to another session or date and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion.
• We reserve the right to amend or withdraw the offer at any time without notice.
