Summer Term Clubs Start This Week at The Steading
With the Easter holidays behind us and the schools back for the summer term, our children’s clubs are starting up again at The Steading this week.
We have a mix of free after-school and Friday afternoon sessions for primary-aged children, with opportunities to build, create, play, learn new skills and spend time with friends in a relaxed, supportive setting.
Lego Club
Lego Club runs on Wednesdays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in the Craft Rooms, and is open to children from P1 to P7.
Each week, children are given a new theme or challenge to get stuck into, from imaginative builds to group projects. Alongside the bricks and creations, the club gives children time to share ideas, work things out together and enjoy a calm, creative hour after school.
RASCALS Arts & Crafts Club
RASCALS Arts & Crafts Club runs on Thursdays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in the Craft Rooms, for children from P2 to P7.
The sessions give children the chance to explore different kinds of art and craft in a relaxed, hands-on way. From painting and creating to experimenting with colour, texture and materials, RASCALS is about using imagination, building confidence and enjoying the process.
Friday Fun
Friday Fun runs on Fridays from 12:30pm to 2:00pm in the Craft Rooms, for children from P1 to P7.
Children bring a packed lunch and spend the afternoon easing into the weekend with crafts, games and group activities. There is a mix of organised activities and time to play, making it a relaxed end-of-week session after a busy few days back at school.
Chess Club
Chess Club runs on Fridays from 2:00pm to 3:00pm in the Conference Suite, and is open to children from P4 through to secondary school age.
The club is suitable for children who are completely new to chess, as well as those who already know how to play.
Sessions give children time to learn the rules, practise tactics, play against others and develop patience, concentration and problem-solving skills.
A Friday Morning Session for Younger Children
Although not exactly an after-school club, Chatter & Clatter also runs on Friday mornings for babies, toddlers under 5 and their families, from 9:30am to 10:30am.
With older children back at school after the Easter break, Friday mornings may be a good time for parents and carers to come along with younger siblings. Chatter & Clatter includes free play, themed crafts, messy sensory play, toys and group activities. Either book online before your session or just drop in on the day.
Booking Information
All of our after-school sessions are free, but spaces are limited. Termly block booking is required for the children’s clubs.
Bookings can be made online through our Calendar page.
