Chatter & Clatter is supporting CLAPA this May
This May, our Chatter & Clatter baby and toddler group will be supporting CLAPA, the UK charity for people affected by cleft lip and palate.
The idea came from one of the mums who attends Chatter & Clatter, and we were pleased to support a cause that matters to so many families.
Blue messy play on Friday 22nd May

As part of Cleft Awareness Week, which runs from 16th to 24th May 2026, we’ll be holding a blue messy play session at Chatter & Clatter on Friday 22nd May.
We’ll also be donating all Chatter & Clatter donations from the month of May to CLAPA.
Families are welcome to come along as usual, and if anyone would like to wear something blue on the day, they’re very welcome to do that too.
Planning ahead? You can book your Chatter & Clatter session through our Calendar page.
Why we’re supporting CLAPA
Cleft lip and palate affects around 1 in 700 babies born in the UK. A cleft can affect feeding, hearing, speech, teeth and confidence, and support can be needed at different stages from babyhood through to adulthood.
CLAPA supports children, adults and families affected by cleft through information, peer support and community programmes across the UK.
Cleft Awareness Week is a chance to help raise awareness, challenge misconceptions, and show support for the children, adults and families affected by cleft across the UK.
Donating to CLAPA
All Chatter & Clatter donations received during May will go to CLAPA.
For anyone who would like to support CLAPA but can’t make it along to Chatter & Clatter, donations can also be made directly through CLAPA’s Cleft Awareness Week JustGiving campaign.
