Rosewell Market returns to The Steading
Rosewell Market, organised by SHS Events, returns to The Steading car park this Sunday 3 May, from 10am to 2pm
It’s the first market of the year, bringing a mix of local food producers, makers, small businesses and community groups together for a busy Sunday market day.
A strong food line-up
Food is the main draw this time, with a good mix of savoury options, baked goods and pantry produce.
On the savoury side, Tweed Trotters will be there with forest-reared native breed pork, while The Little Bakery and Rola Mor bring a range of pies, bridies and artisan sausage rolls. Deli Français will also be joining the line-up with French deli produce, pastries and bread.
There’s still plenty for anyone with a sweet tooth, with Iryna’s Cakes bringing macarons, and stalls like The Wee Cake Lady, Mamma Young’s Bakehouse and Rosehall Stores offering traybakes, cookies, brownies, cakes and other bakes.
For more ingredient-led stalls, Free Range Eggs and Jams will have eggs, jams and lemon curd, while Rift Valley Farms brings Medjoul dates, olive oil, za’atar and spices.
Makers, gifts and local stalls
Away from the food, there’s a mix of handmade and gift-focused stalls.
Clarabunda Illustrations will be there with hand-drawn Scottish streets and stadiums across prints and homeware. Fabric Creations by Carol and HolliMolli Crafts bring handmade fabric items, jewellery and decorative pieces, while The Wee Hairy Coos focuses on Highland cow themed homeware.
You’ll also find jewellery and accessories from Just Jane, candles and home fragrance from Thistle & Twigs, and pet products from Edinpets.

There’s a local community presence too, with Rosewell Football Academy, 1st Rosewell Rainbows, Brownies & Guides, the RSPB, and Woodland Trust all attending.
Street food and drinks
For something to eat while you’re there, A Cup Above will be serving speciality coffee, teas and cakes, Homimo will have bubble tea and Korean-style snacks, and Mr Whippy will be there with ice cream and desserts.
Inside The Steading
The Village Cafe will be open throughout the day.
Alongside the usual menu, there will be fresh fish available from the fridge, sourced via JK Thomson in Musselburgh. It’s notably good value for the quality and freshness, so worth checking while you’re in.
The cafe will also have a selection of local produce available to buy from The Village Larder, including Mungoswells flour, Supernature rapeseed oils (including infused varieties), and Shibui Tea from Loanhead.
They’ll also be serving fresh pizzas made on site using Mungoswells flour, available to sit in or take away, along with Over Langshaw Farmhouse Ice Cream, available by the cone or tub.
Parking and access
The Steading car park will be closed this weekend from 3pm on Saturday afternoon onwards to allow for market setup.
